The Possibility of a Temporary Ceasefire in Armenia and Azerbaijan

0

A temporary ceasefire is likely to be reached today or tomorrow in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Clashes between the two countries have been going on in Karabakh since September 27.

A statement from the French presidency said that Armenia and Azerbaijan were moving towards peace to end the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and that an agreement between the two sides was expected sooner or later.

The French president has called the prime minister of Armenia and the president of Azerbaijan to discuss the situation.

Senior diplomats from Armenia and Azerbaijan will also meet in Moscow soon.
